I applied for the 5th Year mentorship program and during that 1st year out of school, I was given opportunities to advance my skills, not only in the ER but also in advanced surgery and general practice. I learned about alternative therapies including HBOT, ozone, and herbal supplementation. In addition to procedural skills, I was given opportunities to excel in clear communication, team work, and leadership. By my 3rd year I was offered the mentor position where I am able to encourage new graduates to challenge themselves and develop their confidence. At the end of 2023 Hippo’s needs and my goals aligned, and just 4 years out of school, I was offered the role of Medical Director in addition to mentor & associate veterinarian, and the growth didn't stop there! Through leadership summits, continued support, and the opportunities throughout the Hippo Vet Group, I will continue to push boundaries, build up those who come after me, and support all those here with me.

Now that we're a part of Hippo Vets...There's a lot of things that I don't have to think about as much on a day-to-day basis [which] allows me to get back to the part of the business I love the most which is the patient and client relationships and care...
